First off great change in making the move in the backfield made a big difference. Great job Line, backs, and to the whole team, you looked like a different team you play like that the rest of the year hitting hard and not giving up and showing heart, and you can beat anyone! Next read the thread on coaches in the message board, you guys do a great thing and you spend alot of your time helping the youth in the community, but even the best coaches forget or make mistakes. Great game but we almost gave it away by not making simple adjustments on defense a few times, and wouldn't that have been ashame after all the hardwork and effort. Read the shs football thread, you must be willing to listen and/or try other things in football these days to be successful. Don't get me wrong I love oldschool, but you must be willing to adjust to the competition and to the players you have, atleast to a certain degree. When you go against good coaches and players making a couple simple mistakes can cost you a game, especially in the play-offs. We should work with the High school some and use some of their stuff on an older team like the juniors, even the cutters some. It helps ask anyone that knows about Maryville football! - I mean, how can you continually get beat on passing plays and not make some adjustments at key situations? Like just before the half when reciever gets behing def again. That was the last play of the half, shouldve been two safetys way back, and corners shouldve been farther off the line! Then at the end of the game up by 10 4 minutes left they score in about 20 seconds because we don't adjust. We may get an interception if we put players in the right place or at the very least make them take time off the clock which at the time was their worst enemy. Don't be the type of coaches that take offense to this and refuse to change just for spite. Listen to all your coaches and who knows you may even get something off a message board that can help sometime. Work on the onsides kick recovery, you will need to do much better for the play0offs. Great job keep getting better and don't let up now! GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!

the adjustments were made and kids were told were to go but at times kids forget to go and do places on the field when their adrenaline is flowing. we work on everything you wrote day in and day out, but when a kid thinks they know a little bit more than you the whole team suffers, thanks.

i have watched the high school all year and a little of the youth it appears that the youth is already running the same offense as the high school, 1st down - run a sweep, 2nd down - run a sweep,3rd down try to throw a bomb, at the high school and youth, myself and everyone watching could tell what the plays were, i am sure the other teams could also, i also watched the youth championships at Riceville and noticed that the other teams actually rotated their entire bench, gosh to think keeping fresh players, wonder why the sweetwater coaches do not do that??

A LOT OF OTHER TEAMS DO SUB A LOT BUT YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT WERE THEY START THEIR KIDS OUT AT PLAYING 4 & 5YRS. OLD. WE JUST STARTED DOING THAT A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO TO GET OUR KIDS UP TO SPEED. iT WILL START HAPPENING MORE AND MORE AS THE YEARS GO BY FOR US WE'LL GET THAT EXPERIENCE THE OTHER TEAMS HAVE AND SUB A LITTLE DIFFERENT.

ISN'T THAT WHAT YOU SUPPOSE TO DO, USUALLY THROW ON THIRD DOWNS AND IF YOU'RE PRETTY GOOD THROW ON SECOND. YOU CAN RUN IT UP THE MIDDLE ALSO ON 1ST, 2ND DOWNS AND THROW ON THIRDS.

the sweetwater offense is way to easy to for the other teams defense, it never changes. it is not the 60s or 70s, but their offense is still in that time frame, the high school and youth programs. the atheletes are there and want to run a different offense but it is the lack of the coaches changing to fit their personnel.

Your right sweetwater does have the athletes to run a different offense but trying to get the kids to remember something new is hard they barely can remember the simple plays we do now. Kids are not like us older guys , they do not have it in their hearts they just want to say i play football. We add new plays every week in the youth program from the crickets on up, we might not get to run some of them but we do add new plays.
