why is it that our older guys cant seem to get there act together? its like they want to come out strong and pumped but just as soon a they are scored on the go blank on what to do!!! it sholdnt matter if ur a senior or junior,if they ant getting the job done take them out and let the younger boys prove themselves!!!also i think its so degrading to the younger boys on the team when they get to play that ur(so called varsity) dont even give them there attetion. the jr varsity has to stand and watch the varsity sowhy not give back the same respect?? the final thing i want to bring to everyones attention is that, when ur on any field of play u keep your mind on the game and not stand and have a conversation with ur parens or friends,u give the game, teammates, and coaches all ur attention.

Hey h20fan74,

Please speak about your own child. My son gives 110% coming and going for the whole game and then gets upset when the coach decides to pull seniors and play the younger boys!!! As far of the JV games, listen the older players hae served their time and had to stand on the sidelines and wait their turns to play also. So don't complain...encorage our team and our coach. He can only work with what he has and this year we are weak in our skilled players.

Encourage the Wildcats they are young and things will turn around. If High School and younger players don't leave the program things are going to get better, we have the athletes in the programs (youth & High School) to be the program everyone expects Sweetwater to be! Some parents are a big part of this problem. That sure teaches our kids the right way to do things, it's easier to run and talk down about your team, (even players on the sidelines are doing it now) when things don't go right, than it is to give more and do whatever it takes to change things around.
-
-- Players - I know most of you have played on a winning program as you came up through Youth football, you know what it takes. Quit giving up and laying down when things don't go right. You don't even want to win if that is your mindset. I'm starting to see this in younger players to, I never used to see this in Sweetwater but it just keeps getting worse.
-
-- Parents, not to all, but you know who you are. The Coaches are only with the players a couple hours a day, it is your job to teach your kids to do things the right way. Work hard, be humble, your teammates are your family, work for eachother and never quit what you start. If things aren't going like you want try to give more even if you think you are giving your all.
-
-- We need leaders to step up on the team and lead the followers. Get together as friends in the offseason and run, do extra drills or whatever you can to make yourself better. There will still be plenty of time for the 360! You will realize in the future it's much more gratifying to accomplish a goal when you have to work through adversity to get there! Encourage your friends on the team and the guys in the halls that should be playing. I would love to see 60-65 players out there like in the past. GO WILDCATS!
-
--- To all the fairweather fans who would be at the games if we had a winning record. Trust me I am a very very competitive person and enjoy winning as much as anyone so you aren't the only one this hurts. I bleed blue & gold!
Imagine or remember when you were out on the field, how would you have liked to look up and see the stands half empty. Even the best teams eventually have a down cycle, Alcoa, Maryville everyone, but that will change. How about being a part of changing that around even faster. If you have ever called yourself a Sweetwater fan then do the right thing and get out to the stadium and fill the stands and help inspire these kids to work harder, it's real easy to be a quiter, especially if your family, friends and the town show you by example!

'67 Thank you for your response. Empty stands Friday night were awful to see (I know it was the rain, right?). Hope all of Sweetwater goes to East Ridge to support our boys!!! I also hope some things change on the field. We can only do our BEST (when given the opportunity).

football mom,you miss understood what i was saying, and i said nothing towards your son,it shouldnt matter if a player served their time on the side lines or not. Thats the problem now, they need to come together as a team and play that way as well, and until they decide to put egos aside and stop the "im better than you game" they will continue on a dowmward spiral. If the jv get the job done or the varsity then we as parents and fans should be glad. I dont put the coach or players at blame because its a 50/50 game. i stand behind the team and the coaching!!
